Architecture and Ceramics: A Material For All The Ages

October 31 – December 17, 2011

Curated by Robert Silberman and updated by Blaine Brownell. Architecture and ceramics are fundamental cultural forms. In architectural ceramics, bricks, tiles, and other ceramic elements are used as building components for structural as well as decorative purposes. This exhibition looks as far back as ancient Babylon to suggest the long history of the relationship of architecture and ceramics and forward to the development of new architectural materials that continue the kinship of architecture and ceramics.
